My story

This year once again, Trinity Church Mill Hill, have set another 70K challenge asking those taking part to travel 70 km in May in whatever way you choose to, e.g. walking, in order to raise funds.

Last year, we set a challenge for the Mill Hill Churches community to collectively walk 70 km x 7 (i.e. 490 km or approx 304 miles) in May. 70x7 was inspired by the Matthew 18:22 chapter and verse that states ‘No! Jesus replied seventy times seven’, so taking this out of context to inspire our target, we are once again aiming for this target.   Depending on the number of churches participating this will be around 100 km per church, which spread over many congregants should be achievable!

Our aim is simply to raise as much money as possible to collectively fight poverty and make it 70x7!  also getting fit(ter) in the process.

We really hope as many people as possible will take part across our Mill Hill Churches whether they can walk long distances, a few steps or do any activity that will contribute.

Whether you decide to be active or not, kindly PLEASE donate so we can raise as much as is possible. Thank you.

This is the 6th year we have been doing this challenge and since 2021, we have raised an amazing £5,900 to help make a difference in this world and we would value your help in raising even more.

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide seeds and tools so people can grow food in small spaces.
  • fund training so people can plan ahead and protect their livelihoods.
  • support community-led projects that strengthen food security and incomes.
