My story

Christian Aid is a prominent member of the UK’s Disaster Emergency Committee. They work with the other 13 member charities of the DEC to launch emergency appeals for international crises, ensuring rapid, collaborative humanitarian response. 

As well as this emergency work they also have long term projects in countries all over the world, up to 37 different countries in a year.

This Christian Aid Week, the focus is on supporting families facing hunger in Nairobi. 

Parents like Fridah are growing food in small city spaces so their children can eat. With tools, seeds and training, families can plan for the future.

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.
