My story

This Christian Aid Week, We are supporting families facing hunger in Nairobi,Kenya. 

Parents like Fridah are growing food in small city spaces so their children can eat. With tools, seeds and training, families can plan for the future. Most parents wake every single day knowing that they must go and earn money, otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. Fridah knows this reality well. But she's determined to protect her grandchildren from hunger. 

Through our partner, Beacon of Hope, she’s received tools, seeds and training to grow fresh vegetables in a small city space – food she can cook for her family or sell to earn income.

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.
