My story

For me, supporting Christian Aid is a long-standing commitment. Since 1982, I’ve been raising funds to help people worldwide facing hardship, because I believe lasting change comes through practical support and sustainable solutions.

This Christian Aid Week, I’m focusing on families in Nairobi facing hunger. Parents like Fridah are growing food in small urban spaces so their children can eat - building resilience with the right tools, seeds and training.

I have teamed up with a small group of fellow fundraisers to run a series of fun events from late March to mid-June to raise as much as we can.

Your donation will help turn determination into opportunity and real hope for the future.

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide seeds and tools so people can grow food in small spaces.
  • fund training so people can plan ahead and protect their livelihoods.
  • support community-led projects that strengthen food security and incomes.
