My story

This Christian Aid Week, Kensington United Reformed Church is standing alongside Christian Aid to support families facing hunger in Nairobi.  We have been supporting Christian Aid for many years and we thank all those who have made a donation in previous years.

In Kenya. in the crowded and bustling settlements of Nairobi, most parents wake every single day knowing that they must go and earn money, otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. 

It’s a precarious and frightening daily struggle that no family should have to face.

Parents like Fridah are growing food in small city spaces so their children can eat. With tools, seeds and training, families can plan for the future.   Urban farmers, like Fridah can grow hope!

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.
