My story

This Christian Aid Week, we’re supporting families facing hunger in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya.

Parents like Fridah are learning how to grow food in small city spaces so their children can eat. With tools, seeds and training, families can plan for the future.

This Christian Aid Week, please give generously to help Fridah and everyone in her situation be self-sufficient.

Don't forget to Gift Aid your donation, if appropriate.

Thanks

Huge thanks to all who have donated so far, by means of this e-envelope and by other methods of giving. The total is rising. It's heartening to realise that what we do here in Inverness can have a direct positive impact on people driven from the Kenya countryside into Nairobi by climate change and economic reality, helping them to grow their own food in seemingly impossibly small spaces. It really does make a difference.

First donation received!

Congratulations! This activity has received its first donation!

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide seeds and tools so people can grow food in small spaces.
  • fund training so people can plan ahead and protect their livelihoods.
  • support community-led projects that strengthen food security and incomes.
