My story

For more than 80 years Christian Aid has been partnering with communities and organisations across the world to support people of every faith and none to build a better future. The charity tackles the causes of poverty and its representatives are there for our global neighbours when disasters strike, staying until people can restore and protect their dignity and freedom.

The funds that Little Gaddesden raises for Christian Aid Week 2026 will support programmes that seek to:

Respond to emergencies by offering vital aid to people surviving disaster and conflict, and long-term support to help rebuild lives.
Turn violence to peace by supporting communities to remove the causes of local conflict, and campaigning for global leaders to seek peace.
Tackle the climate crisis by championing the protection of creation, and supporting frontline communities to build resilience to extreme weather.
Promote human rights by challenging inequity, advocating for people without power, and holding decision makers accountable.

Thank you for any support you are able to give.

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide seeds and tools so people can grow food in small spaces.
  • fund training so people can plan ahead and protect their livelihoods.
  • support community-led projects that strengthen food security and incomes.
