I’m fundraising this Christian Aid Week to support families facing hunger.
In Nairobi, parents like Fridah are growing food in small spaces to make sure their children can eat. With support from Christian Aid and Beacon of Hope, families are learning how to grow food and build more secure futures.
I have taken part in the Christian Aid challenge for the last two years. I was motivated by the ending of Christian Aid envelopes being distributed around Thirsk. I am doing this challenge to give people an easy, alternative way to contribute to the very important work of Christian Aid. You do not, however, have to live in Thirsk to contribute to my fundraising page.
Funding charities such as Christian Aid are now more important than ever. Our Conservative government, a few years ago, cut foreign aid relief. The present Labour government cut it further. The American government have slashed their foreign aid. The need is still there to help people suffering from hunger, famine and poverty, be it caused by crop failure, climate change or man's inhumanity to his fellow man by waging war.
This year I am again aiming to walk 250km in May around Thirsk and further afield in Yorkshire.
Thank you for any support you’re able to give.
