My story

We are fundraising this Christian Aid Week (CAW) to support families of all faiths and none facing hunger and poverty in the Global South.

Holy Trinity Church has a long history of support for Christian Aid, particularly in Christian Aid Week. 

This year volunteers from church will be posting CAW delivery only envelopes into many houses in our Parish. Envelopes with donations can   be returned to church or Sarah C Greengrocers in the village. Or donations can be made to our online CAW fundraising page https//caw.christianaid.org.uk/fundraiser-2026/htwot

Church member Jules Freeman has booked a ride on the Fastest Zip Wire in the World, and Longest in Europe, as part of Holy Trinity's Christian Aid Week appeal and  "7 days to make a difference" !  The Zip Wire is over Penrhyn Quarry, North Wales and Jules will be zooming down it on Tuesday 12th May, in Christian Aid Week. Church member Ken Pattison will be cycling 140 miles in CAW as part of  "7 days to make a difference". You can also sponsor him via our church online fundraising page above or QR code. 

In Nairobi, parents like Fridah are growing food in small spaces to make sure their children can eat. With support from Christian Aid and their partner in Nairobi,  Beacon of Hope, families are learning how to grow food and build more secure futures.

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide seeds and tools so people can grow food in small spaces.
  • fund training so people can plan ahead and protect their livelihoods.
  • support community-led projects that strengthen food security and incomes.
