My story

Happy are those whose hope is in the Lord their God . . . who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. From Psalm 146

St Mary Church Spring Grove and St Luke Mission Church, Hounslow West have supported the work of Christian Aid for over 40 years, because we believe God calls us to care for our neighbours and his creation.

This Christian Aid Week 2026, we are joining with many Christians across the UK in raising awareness of and fundraising for the vital work of Christian Aid across many nations, including families facing hunger in Nairobi.

To make a difference for parents like Fridah, who are growing food in small city spaces so their children can eat. Fundraising for tools, seeds and training, so that families can plan for the future.

With our prayers and donations we can be change makers for so many people. Please give what you can this Christian Aid Week.

Thank you

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide seeds and tools so people can grow food in small spaces.
  • fund training so people can plan ahead and protect their livelihoods.
  • support community-led projects that strengthen food security and incomes.
