This Christian Aid Week (and a bit beyond too!) people in Melbourne will be fundraising to enable Christian Aid to continue their vital work. There will be coffee mornings, cake and plant stalls and a breakfast with toy and book stall. And this on line giving page too!
All the money raised will help Christian Aid to: support their partner organisations in providing help to communities to access healthcare and education and to grow their own food; respond to disasters and emergencies and also campaign to address issues that keep people in poverty.
This year the Christian Aid Week campaign is focussing on women in Nairobi, Kenya, women like Fridah who are growing food in small city spaces so their children can eat. With tools, seeds and training, families can plan for the future.
Last year, people in Melbourne raised £3,839 for the work of Christian Aid. Thank you.
£5 could buy seeds to start a family’s vegetable garden,
£30 could buy a trio of cone garden planters that host many plants in a tiny city space
