My story

This Christian Aid Week, we're supporting families facing hunger in Nairobi, Kenya.  Parents like Fridah are growing food in small city spaces so their children can eat. With tools, seeds and training, families can plan for the future. 

Please give generously to support urban farmers like Fridah in the fight against hunger. We pray that our fundraising efforts will help more people fulfil their hopes and ambitions.

-   Some of us will be doing the Christian Aid Freedom Walk on 9 May linking many London city churches.

-   Many of us will be attending our Christian Aid Service on 10 May 2025 at 11am, followed by a fundraising jacket potato lunch.

-   All of us will be praying and campaigning for climate and debt justice for those countries most affected by the devastating impact of global heating and ongoing debt payments.

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide seeds and tools so people can grow food in small spaces.
  • fund training so people can plan ahead and protect their livelihoods.
  • support community-led projects that strengthen food security and incomes.
