My story

Christian Aid supports people in communities around the world to build resilience and challenge hunger, poverty and injustice. For example, in Nairobi, parents like Fridah are growing food in tiny urban spaces so their children don’t go without.

Countless people around the world have to go to great lengths to survive and grow hope in the face of climate and gender injustice (and poverty, violence, debt, ...) To support them, I will be running the 13 miles of a half marathon (the furthest I've ever run in my privileged life).

If you are able, please support my challenge this Christian Aid Week.

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide seeds and tools so people can grow food in small spaces.
  • fund training so people can plan ahead and protect their livelihoods.
  • support community-led projects that strengthen food security and incomes.
