My story

This year, Christian Aid is focusing on supporting communities facing poverty and food insecurity in Kenya and Burundi.

They are working with Beacon of Hope – a faith-based NGO – on projects such as Imarisha Kilimo – which means “strengthen agriculture” in Swahili. The aim is to tackle food insecurity by providing training and practical support to set up climate-smart, small space urban farms.

With tools, seeds and training, families can plan for the future.

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.
